Today was the day that The General met up with a new friend: the South China Sea at Big Wave Bay! All good, although the only thing was that the water was pretty damn cold, maybe pushing 18 degrees and I was just wearing board shorts and a rash vest. I managed 25 minutes on the first session, and then had to get out as I was shivering uncontrolably!
The second session picked up with the sets pushing 5 ft. All good, caught a few waves then again had to come in and drink some hot tea as I couldn’t stop shivering again!
Big Wave Bay is only abut 20 minutes drive from Hong Kong Central, but you feel like you are a million miles away. Clean sandy beach, rolling hills and cliffs, and friendly local surfers were the order of the day!
