An unplanned stop in the Serra Do Mar en-route from Caraguatatuba to São José Dos Campos comes up trumps!

This aerial photo shows the Serra do Mar and the coastal town of Caraguatatuba in São Paulo State, Brazil. In the foreground you can see the new bypass that is currently being constructed. This will eventually alleviate some of the weekend traffic that descends on this area of the coast from São Paulo. But in the process it will mean that some large sections of the beautiful Atlantic Forest (Serra do Mar) will be removed. It was shot just before sunset, from the top of Morro Santo Antonio using a DJI Mavic Pro Drone.

After carefully paddle boarding out to Cockaigne Islet (Ihote de Cockaigne), I managed to grab this aerial shot of the Litoral Paulista. You can see Ilha da Cocanha in the foreground and the beaches of Cocanha, Mococa and Tabatinga stretching into the distance. The Serra do Mar provides the backdrop to this beautiful stretch of Brazilian coastline.
